Born and raised in Hilo, Hawaii, Maurice studied fine arts at the University of Hawaii Hilo and Manoa campuses where he recieved his BFA and MEd. He has been an art educator in the Hawaii Public School system for over 30 years.

Maurice's photographs reflect his appreciation for the natural beauty that surrounds us here in Hawaii. A keen eye for detail and an artist's perspective are  apparent in his photographs.
